Who is Eligible

You are eligible for assistance if you meet these criteria:

• You are within the boundaries of the declared disaster area and suffered losses directly related to the disaster
• Your losses are not covered by available insurance
• You are a private homeowner or a residential tenant; or you own and operate a small business or farm with yearly gross revenue as reported for income tax purposes of not less than $10,000 and not more than $2,000,000
• You are a non-profit organization operating a facility in the community’s interest, essential to its secular needs and to which there is unrestricted public access
• Your damages fall into the categories of eligible losses and costs under the Province of Nova Scotia Disaster Assistance Program
