Media Resources
Media Covering Emergency Events
Before, during and after an emergency, the media have a critical role in informing the public about what is happening and how Nova Scotians can keep their family and property safe. Media relations staff from one or more of the responding agencies will help to ensure the media are kept informed of the emergency situation and the response activities. Media will have access to spokespeople and experts either through pre-arranged interview requests or regular media briefings. Access to an emergency site will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, and may be limited for the safety of emergency personnel, media and the public. It is important for media to carry identification.
