Welcome to the EMO Storm Centre. We invite you to learn more about what to do before, during and after severe weather.

Storm Centre

In Nova Scotia, we can face a number of severe weather events. All can lead to injury or loss of life, property damage, and loss of essential services.

Weather Types

Nova Scotians affected by emergencies are often surprised by how little time they have to prepare. In many cases you could have only minutes to either prepare to stay in your home for an extended time or to leave.

Know the risks you face here in Nova Scotia and take the time to get ready now.

Before Storms

When a severe storm hits you will want to do everything you can to keep yourself and your family safe.

During Storms

While the severe weather may have passed, real danger still exists. Be very careful in the aftermath of a storm. Continue to listen to the advice and direction of emergency managers, and do your best to help those who need assistance.

Soon the real work will begin as communities and families start to clean-up and rebuild their lives.
